PRESENTER: Rob Crane - Computer Associates

Mr. Crane is an IBM Certified Solutions Expert for DB2 (V7 & V8). He continues to be a sought after speaker at CA-World and IDUG for the last 5 years in a row.  He has also received a “Top 10 Speaker” award at a recent IDUG.

Mr. Crane holds an MIS Degree from the University of Northern Iowa.  He lives with his family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

PRESENTATION: What has DB2 done with my data?

Interested in minimizing the amount of I/O DB2 has to perform to GET to your data?  Want to understand what can be done to SQL and your objects in order to make them efficiently perform?  Or do you just want to know what DB2 has done with your data?

This session, by Rob Crane, will focus on the performance aspects of DB2.  Specifically, we’ll look at the getting of the data, indexing and tablespace considerations, tuning SQL (yes, it can be tuned!), and looking at the various access path choices that are available in DB2.

And while this session is interactive, there will also be ample time for Q&A and off-line dialog with Mr. Crane.
